Oh shoot! The rumors are true! Season 6 finale is airing in the UK! I had to get out of Equestria Daily before people started posting about what they are seeing!

Looks like I'm gonna have to set spoiler tags for S06E24, S06E25, and S06E26 on Derpibooru.

Hmm, Equestria Girls 4 airs in South America, Best New Bird/Cat Waifu episode airs in Poland and now the finale is airing in the UK.

Dear Discovery Family:

But did they tho?

Did they really?

It's been a while since I've done this. To celebrate the 6th anniversary of MLP: FiM, I have decided to share you guys the list of new fanfics I've read.

Twilight Sparkle Winds Up in a Town Inhabited by Bad OCs – Nothing much to say about this fanfic. The title is self-explanatory.

Buckball Abstract – Rainbow Dash and Applejack try to recruit a unicorn pony for their buckball team. Starlight and Twilight are interested, since they know plenty of things about buckball. Too much, actually.

Celestia vs. Garble – Garble has won the Gauntlet of Fire and wants to challenge Celestia to a battle. Celestia accepts. Garble does not know what terrible fate lies ahead of him.

Hero's Day – Introducing Hero's Day! A day where Equestria's worst villains dress up as their favorite heroes and go door to door demanding treats.

Undead? I had no idea! – Sequel to "Still Undead, Still Don't Care." A cure for the zombie outbreak has been developed, so that the undead can return to their normal selves. The only thing is that ponies don't seem to care about their lifestyle, whether they are undead or not.

Starlight Glimmer's Cutie Mark Removal Shop – What happens when a pony doesn't actually like the cutie mark that they receive? Perhaps one more embarrassing than most?
Well, that's when Starlight Glimmer's special talents come into play.

Goodnight, Knuckleheads – Twilight and Spike are up late once again. Starlight, however, isn't having it tonight.

Of Sunshine and Mushrooms – Princess Celestia travels to the Mushroom Kingdom – a country strange enough to have been made by Discord. There, a certain surprise is waiting for her. Some would say, it's just another day in the life of a princess.

Stereotypical HIE Story – A story filled with all of the HIE stereotypes and cliches into one short story.

How Many Princesses Does It Take – The sun has gone out over Equestria, sending Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends off to Canterlot to deal with whatever new villain has caused the disaster.
…thankfully, it turns out to be a far smaller problem than anticipated.

A Newspaper Solves Everypony's Problem – Starlight Glimmer is about to embark on a few little friendship lessons. Five to be exact. However, she’s still a little murky on how to get all her friends to cooperate, so things go as quickly and efficiently as possible. Luckily, a surprise visit from another friend might solve Starlight’s problem.

Say, this episode was written by the duo who wrote "Gauntlet of Fire", right? They've written another gem, because I LOVED the episode! Not only did I love the humor and the new characters in the episode, but I loved the interactions between the new characters and the Twilight and Rainbow duo! It seems that Mike Vogel isn't the only awesome new writer this season. Joanna Lewis and Kristine Songco (the duo who wrote "Gauntlet of Fire" and "Top Bolt") gave us Dragon Lord Torch and Princess Ember. Now they gave us Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail. It seems that these two writers are good at introducing new and awesome characters to the audience.

Can we please give a medal to Mike Vogel for best writer of season 6 of MLP: FiM? Because he and Haber wrote a really amazing season finale! The character chemistry was excellent, especially between Trixie and Discord, the humor was great, and many of the moments were quite intriguing and suspenseful. Who would've thought that a two-parter that doesn't focus on the mane six would be so exciting and awesome at the same time? You have a former villain who has the ability to manipulate magic and used to run a town by making everypony conform to her ways; you have an illusionist and a performer who went corrupt with an evil magical artifact and is a bitter rival against the Princess of Friendship; you have an outcast from a feared species who is returning to where he used to live; and you have a spirit of chaos and disharmony who is friends with an animal lover. All of them are reformed villains or characters trying abandon their old style of life and are trying to do something they have never thought of doing before: infiltrate the changeling hive, defeat Queen Chrysalis, and rescue the captured ponies.

Trixie was amazing. Her magic tricks were quite useful as a distraction to help Starlight and the others reach Chrysalis's throne room. She played a huge role in the season finale and excelled in that role. Thorax was fantastic. All of that time spent in the Crystal Empire has benefited him. He now has all of the love stored inside of him, and it was useful against Chrysalis (that's the second time Chrysalis got blasted by love). Discord was hilarious and was scary when he got serious. And as for Starlight? She is now….

Okay, I'm just kidding. But really. I love how she managed to get through all of this without the use of magic, which is something that she (and Discord) heavily relies on. I liked Starlight before and I like her a lot more than ever after watching the season finale.

Thank you, Mike Vogel, Josh Haber, Nick Confalone, Joanna Lewis and Kristine Songco, and all of the MLP staff members! You guys made season 6 of MLP: FiM really enjoyable!

And here's something for you guys to look at.

Yoshi has basically covered everything, but I'd also like to point out how most of the season finales we've seen so far have had a problem with pacing, and have often seemed highly rushed. But this one fit its time slot almost perfectly! It really shows how much practice the writers have gotten since the early days.

The Season 6 finale was amazing, I guess. It's the first episode in a long time that I've wanted to rewatch.

No spoilers please. I still haven't watched the last 25 episodes of the season. :3

In other snooze, look what I found in steam:

Go ahead and tell me that's not Rainbow Dash. Half the characters in the game even feel like the ponies. There's one that is pink and bakes, one that has Apple Jack's color scheme, and one named "Luna" who I haven't met yet. The game is also supper filled with pop culture references. There are ones to Rick and Morty, and…well I forget, but I'm sure ponies is an influence on this one too.

Season 6 is by far the best Season

@The Cute Master :3
WARNING: SPOILERS

@Season Finale
8/10 (Part 1: 9/10, Part 2: 7/10). Definitely a strong finish to a season I honestly felt was the weakest since 3. The first episode was a lot stronger than the second and had a genuinely terrible "cliffhanger." It would have been a lot cooler to milk the changeling paranoia for an episode and a half, rather than instantly cut to the changeling kingdom and spend a half episode bumbling around inside--which definitely sank Part 2 a little.

And where was Starlight's leadership hesitation throughout the season? Why was that just now suddenly a thing? That would have been a great thing to play around with for an episode or two--maybe even replace the mind control plot with it. It only reinforced my believe the writers really botched Starlight's character arc in the season.

The changeling redemption I'm bummed with. Reoccurring villains are great and to shuttle them off after so little use feels like a terrible waste--they could have at least still made them reliant on feeding on love to keep things a little interesting and keep some doors open a crack, but no. Off to the pile of unused characters they'll likely go. At least they kept Chrysalis as a plot card for future use.

@Top Bolt
7/10. Was spoiled by that picture book leek a while back so I already knew the plot. It was nice to return to the Wonderbolt Academy setting and plot, but play it from a different angle. Otherwise, it was a pretty standard affair.

And they really need to start giving the Make A Wish kids VA lessons so they don't sound so out of place and awkward.

Regarding ol' 2Snacks, well, it certainly has been a while since the last TBSP video but both of his recent updates definitely clear the air in many aspects, especially the one where he talks about that impersonator, which I had no idea it was a thing in the first place until it was brought up. That's messed up.

Anyway, his many works (alongside his ongoing collaborations with the Super Best Friends' Crew) may have left him very busy but the guy's still has his magic intact. The fluidity and the complexity of the animations, in both 2D and 3D, foretell a package of new masterpieces for the future.

Pinkie Pie is going to fight Deadpool in the Season Finale of Death Battle.

Ah, Deadpool will probably win. I'm not sure what kind of attack Pinkie could make that'd overcome his healing factor.

It's been a long while since I've done this, but here are some of the new fanfics I've read:

Happy NightHearts Wrap Up Day – Due to a mistake absolutely, 100% Discord's fault, none of the holidays were planned or celebrated all year. Twilight must now find a way to celebrate 3 in one day.

The First Death Of Twilight Sparkle – Twilight Sparkle dies due to a random accident. It's all right, though. She's fine.

Live to Be Reformed Another Day – A re-imagining of the season 6 finale where Chrysalis manages to get away, but someone decides to hold her back.

Overlooked – The changelings are content with their recent change, but they're all still working to adjust to the full scope of these changes.

Thorax, however, finds there was one personal change he's somehow overlooked.

Top Edge – Sequel to "That Changeling's a Pony!", Maxilla the changeling is having a great time living as a disguised pony in Baltimare. However, one evening, she meets an annoying fan who won't leave her alone.

Fluttershy Wants in your Shirt – Fluttershy loves to wear the human's shirt for some weird reason.

I'm a Zeppelin – Drone 319, Queen Chrysalis's top spy in Ponyville, finds himself hovering over Ciderfest tied to a balloon. Why? He doesn't know. When asked what he's doing, he says the first thing that comes to mind to keep his cover.

"I'm a Zeppelin."

Luna Has Anger Issues – Hate mail, her overprotective sister, idiotic guards… Not to mention her impossible anger issues…. Luna definately has her hooves full!

The Most Successful Assassination of Princess Celestia – It was a bright sunny day when Princess Celestia was taken from us by three very familiar fillies… Or was she?

Supermoon – When Luna is affected by a supermoon, nopony save for Celestia herself could have prepared for what came next. Unfortunately, Celestia forgot.

Oops.

Princess Celestia vs. A Cockroach – Princess Celestia encounters a cockroach after making her breakfast. Naturally, she handles the situation like most ponies would.

Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, and A House Centipede – Sequel to "Princess Celestia vs. A Cockroach." After a long night of work, Princess Luna goes back to her bedroom, only to find a house centipede near her nightstand. Naturally, she handles the situation as most ponies wouldn't, and brings it to her sister.

"Shining? You Think Mom And Dad Might've Been Kidnapped By Ninjas?" – "Shining? You think Mom and Dad might've been kidnapped by ninjas?" Twilight Sparkle nervously asked her brother.
"Looks like it," Shining told his sister openly. "Why else would they be so late?"
Thus began the night of a thousand fibs.

"Chrysalis, I've Come To Bargain!" – Starlight bargains for Chrysalis' friendship. Parody of the "I've come to bargain" scene from Dr. Strange.

The Horrifically Horrible Kidnapping Of Princess Flurry Heart – For the first time in over a year, Princess Flurry Heart is left alone, creating the perfect opportunity for any ol' villain to come and take her away.

Those poor bastards.

The gallery will surely be raided by the new characters that have been recently announced for the MLP movie. I think it's time to enlist them for the time being.

The big bad of the film, most likely. Sure, he reminds me of Tirek but, like an icy version of him (with the northern lands as his origin territory, probably). Nevertheless, he looks like he's ready to crash the party and begin any onslaught he desires.

Ok, so, she totally seems like a seapony, and if that's the case, then she's probably the ruler, or a high authority figure, of an underwater civilization but, what is that? Something like that already existed? It may be canon, it may be not… I think, I don't know, why would you trust me on this?

Alright, so we got this guy which, I have to say, he did accomplished his mission of being unexpected… for me at least. Then again, this already happened before. He isn't the only anthropomorphic cat who appears in the series, you know.

Seems to be the badass one of the quartet, but, who won't be? I don't have a particular comment for her but she looks pretty good (I'm already aware of some comments calling her edgy just for her appearance, though).

Sup, thought I'd show up here once again since I finally got round to watching the rest of Season 6… In case anybody forgot that I was having trouble finding the attention span to get through it. Also I kinda forgot I hadn't watched it all the way at some point so I had to be reminded by fanart of things I hadn't seen yet.

I have like two things I have been made to ponder by finishing the season off… Mainly why it feels like Twilight is now less of a main character for some reason, and how odd it is that new changelings as a species that theoretically once required a breeding queen to reproduce now instead has a King.

Granted, I think the latter probably has a crack fic or two about that.

@Twilight

I'd say it's a side-effect of the fact that the show has been going on so long. Her character arc from the first season is basically complete, since she has gone from being friendless to being the literal goddess of friendship, so there isn't much space to develop her further. Turning her into Glimmer's teacher was a good idea, since it let's her grow in a new direction, but it also means that every important Twilight story is also probably a Glimmer story too. The net result is less Twilight overall.

I had a four part massive filibuster about how a random thought I had in the time between when I read this and now, and how they're related, and I lost parts one and two… Basically I hit the character limit, so let's try this again, with a TL;DR version.

One, Twilight isn't special for being an alicorn, hypothetically anypony can become one, its just there's not many ponies willing to spend 20 episodes training in a hyper gravity chamber.

Two, we've seen her learn lessons even while Starlight is around, as is the case with Spike teaching Twilight to give changelings a chance. So the argument that she's reached her peak is ridiculous.

Tangent topic starts here

Three, realistically alicorns should be a little more common than they are just from the fact its possible to become one, even if its incredibly difficult, which likely won't dissuade a few from trying. And let's be honest, if it were actually easy to become an alicorn rather than just hypothetically possible, everypony WOULD do it. As seems to be the case with that crossover comic I'm still on, since unfortunately the other half of the setting has mechanics that make it way too easy to become an alicorn.

Four, even if alicorns WERE relatively common, it wouldn't be a bad thing in itself. The main reason Alicorns have the worst reputation as OCs is largely because before the head cannon died, everyone treated it as an "I was BORN better than everyone else" thing. But if every Alicorn OC was written as "trained for years to become an alicorn, succeeded", we'd probably be less cranky about it.

So are we all still just standing around here, beating a dead horse? Don't lie. No one here is still a brony. The fandom has died. RIP in ponies.

JK. Why has Hasbro left us in such a dry spell? :(

"_Sup, thought I’d show up here once again since I finally got round to watching the rest of Season 6…"_

Here I sit 3 months from my last post and I still haven't bothered to watch the episodes. I want to buy the Season 6 DVD set, but apparently that isn't a thing yet. I guess I'll have to wait until summer for that since that's when they released Season 5 last year. :(

@MLP Movie

Is it time yet? We're so close to the release. I thought it would never get here, but I'm sure we can be expecting a trailer any day now. :3

About the teaser, first things first: the animation looks so smooth you can't take it. Second, there's a certain purple-ish pegasus who keeps flying around and who reminds me to Firefly a bit (she might probably end up as a generic pony but, who knows? What if she's the real Firefly? It could happen.)

Anyway. Next I want to say is, and this might probably be old news by now but still, synopses for four new S7 episodes got released. Here they go:

Fluttershy is determined to make her career dreams come true with the help of some very special ponies. But when her true vision is not being executed properly, she must find a way to stand up and fight for her ideas.

When Rarity surprises Sweetie Belle with a special day together filled with all of her favorite activities, she quickly learns that her little sister is no longer the little foal she used to be.

When Rainbow Dash's parents discover she's a Wonderbolt, they show up at every event to cheer her on. However, their unabashed enthusiasm proves to be rather embarrassing and pushes Rainbow Dash to the brink.

When the Cutie Mark Crusaders discover that Big Mac has his first crush, they vow to help him win Sugar Belle’s heart before Feather Bangs does it first.

Apparently, whoever was in charge of doing the teaser fucked up and that's why Dash looks like she two black eyes, among other less-than-great shading.

I'm both optimistic and pessimistic. Optimistic since it really looks like they're writing Starlight out after the premiere. I really feel like they completely botched her character arc in S6 and with that arc basically done, all she does now is crowd out an ensemble cast of possible episodes.

Pessimistic because some of these synopses are giving me deja vu. A "Fluttershy learns to be assertive" plot (bonus points for also reminding me of Canterlot Boutique)? A "babysitter stresses out over getting in over her head" plot? I really hope the new writers aren't falling back on recycling plots.

I also really hope the Dash episode isn't full of cringe comedy. I had a hard enough time watching Newbie Dash.

Hey everypony. I'm not into roleplaying but if you want an awesome roleplaying experience head on over and apply at our-stories-of-friendship They have a rigorous application process and the mods will be conducting an interview with applicants so you can be sure the roleplayers you'll be interacting with know the ins and outs of the game. They're looking for new people. Be sure to read their rules first!

If you're someone with a bit of time to spare on a daily basis and wants to interact with friendly people of the same interests then you're most likely what they're looking for. Apply now!

Hellooo there everybody! What did you think about…
Wh-? Why is nobody talking about today's episode?

Anyway

Well, for beginners, it's pretty weird that this is the first season start that is not a two-parter. By extension, its also weird that there wasn't some huge threat, but, that's not necessarily a bad thing. These weren't "epic" episodes, but were good episodes all the same. "Celestial advice" worked well as an epilogue of "To where and back again", and more important finally, some freaking Celestia focus I mean, she is supposed to be an important character, and this is literally the most focus she has gotten in the whole show! Anyway, yeah that's a good thing. Also the end of the episode kinda felt like a bait and switch, but, if you are of the ones that have grown to like Starlight, at least it means she isn't being put on a bus or anything.
As for "bottled up", Yeah, it confirms that Starlight will continue to have a lot of focus on the show (and Trixie too).

So, no two-parter this time around?

This makes me a little sad. I've always liked the two-parter format of past premieres and finales.

The two-parters are great, but I'm glad that the writers don't feel that they're mandatory. MLP has always been at heart a slice-of-life show, where the emphasis is more on the characters and their interactions than on the twice-a-season end of the world events, so it makes sense that we'll get major plot milestones revolving around characters in addition to the ones about giant monsters having DBZ beam wars over the fate of Equestria. Those are fun, but making them required is a good way to make them predictable.

I have to admit, I really liked these opening episodes. Even though the supposed big plot problem of the first part never really amounted to anything, which might become regretful later, I just enjoyed that they didn't force some major apocalypse in when it wasn't necessary at this point. And the writing was just really good: smart Discord visual gags, more nuanced characterization of most characters that had screentime, (Rarity and Pinkie a little less so, hopefully we'll see them shine more later on. But Twilight, Celestia, Starlight, Trixie and Discord most of all, even Spike felt like they've actually learned from the past instead of the standard "reset to idiot" mode cartoon characters sometimes get. glares at New Spongebob) good use of back-and-forth between what was happening in Ponyville and what was happening in the escape room, etc. The only time they messed up was that Twilight didn't say "I knew I could trust you!" to bookend Starlight's fear that she wouldn't be able to trust her anymore. Also the song was catchy. And little things, like Trixie being nice enough to offer her nuts was nice, or that even Bulk was more than just "guy that yells and it's funny because he's huge".
Overall, I give it 9.5/10, just a really strong start that did most everything it wanted to right instead of trying to force unnecessary drama and shit. (I actually really like that Discord is still kind of evil in his own way, the fact that you can never 100% trust him makes him a truly unpredictable character.)
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually pretty excited for the new season. Even if anything with Flurry Heart makes me automatically hesitant.

By the way, since I'm new on this specific forum and I have been disconnected from the Brony community since a while, I gotta ask… How do you feel about Starlight? I ask this because she seems to be one of the most ambivalent characters of the show, being both very loved and hated. In my personal opinion, yeah, She had an absolutely stupid motivation for her villainess, but after that she also had quickly established a strong personality and a lot of character development, for not mentioning that a important part of her character is being very self-conscious about her past (and her dubious motivations). The origin was weak, but she has grown to be one of my favorite characters.

I really like Starlight – and I agree that she's way stronger as a reformed villain than as an antagonist. She injected an interesting new dynamic in the show, helping to round off Twilight's character development while also introducing a new source of conflict.

Also, she helped make Trixie a regular character. And for that she is owed our undying gratitude.
