Coems or Coems🤑 is a misspelling of the word "comes" used on Roblox as an algospeak alternative to the word "cum" or "cums." The slang term was coined and popularized by Roblox TikToker @coolnoob101 in December 2022 and became increasingly prevalent on the app and on Roblox throughout early 2023.

The term "coems 🤑" was coined and popularized by Roblox TikToker @coolnoob101 around December 2022 as an alternative to the word "cum" or "cums." The word is a misspelling of "comes." Although the exact origin is unclear, the earliest apparent video on his TikTok^[1] page to use the term was posted on December 27th, 2022, garnering over 1.4 million views in three months (shown below). The term seems to predate this based on videos from other TikTokers posted earlier that month that reference it, such as a December 10th post by TikToker^[2] @devilspeedster.

Spread

The term became increasingly popularized on TikTok over the following months in ironic Roblox meme videos. It also became prominent on Roblox among the game's players. On December 29th, 2022, TikToker^[3] @coolnoob101 posted a video showing himself entering a server and being surrounded by players saying "coems," garnering over 190,000 views in three months. On January 5th, 2023, the same TIkToker^[4] posted a video where a player uses the term, garnering over 2.3 million views in two months (shown below).

Some videos using the term have on-screen captions reading, "bro speaks emoji 💀" and show players speaking in Roblox slang. On January 25th, 2023, TikToker^[5] @zrey.hood posted a meme using the term that gained over 1.7 million views in two months (shown below, left). On February 12th, TikToker^[6] @unknowntimmydh posted a video using the term, garnering over 839,000 views in a month (shown below, right).

On February 26th, TikToker^[7] @creweditss posted a video where a player uses the term, garnering over 800,000 views in two weeks (shown below).

Mina Mintip / Coems Song

Mina Mintip or the Coems Song is a song by Central Asian artist Siezdbek Iskenaliev released in June 2017. The song, which references Gangnam Style in its lyrics, went viral on TikTok in March 2023 after being associated with videos referencing the Coems🤑 Roblox meme, becoming known as the "Coems Song" and spreading to YouTube Shorts. Numerous versions of the song went viral on both platforms, including a piano version known as the Coems Song Lullaby.
