About
Huell Rolling In Money, also known as Huell Sleeping On Money, refers to a scene from Breaking Bad in which the character Huell Babineaux, upon seeing a giant pile of dollar bills, lays down on it alongside Patrick Kuby. The scene has been taken out of context and used as a reaction image and exploitable image macro online, usually with captions of people detailing how they received a small amount of money.
Origin
In the August 18th, 2013, episode of Breaking Bad entitled "Buried,"[1] Huell and Kuby discover a large pile of cash. Huell (played by Lavell Crawford) says there's something he has to do, and proceeds to lie down on the pile before Kuby (played by Bill Burr) joins him (shown below). This is a reference to Scrooge McDuck, who famously dives into a pile of gold coins in the intro to the animated series Duck Tales, which is mentioned by Kuby's character when he says, "We're here to do a job, not channel Scrooge McDuck."
Spread
The scene was used in numerous types of memes over the following years. For example, on October 2nd, 2016, Imgur[4] user IDontKnowWhatToBelieve posted the image calling it "Money Huell," receiving 480 views in roughly five years (shown below).
Several examples of these memes show a person or entity expressing that they feel rich, though this is usually not sincere. Examples include a user claiming a company or entity made up the thing that got them rich (examples from Imgflip[2][3] shown below).
Other examples include using the template as an exploitable, usually by altering the background (examples shown below).
