I Wouldn't Have Forgotten If I Was Sleeping With You is a quote said by Dan Avidan in an episode of Game Grumps while doing a parody voice of Link during a playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. The quote caused Arin Hanson, doing a parody voice of Zelda, to stutter "Jesus…" before returning to reading the game's dialogue. The scene became a prominent sound on TikTok and was used in skits and lip dubs in the mid-2020s.

Origin

On July 19th, 2018, Game Grumps^[1] uploaded the second episode in their Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword playthrough. In a scene, Arin Hanson is voicing Zelda and reads dialogue that chides Link for sleeping in and forgetting to meet her. Dan adlibs Link saying, "I wouldn't have forgotten if I was sleeping with you," causing Arin to mutter "Jesus…" before resuming Zelda's dialogue. The episode gained over 1.3 million views in five and a half years (shown below).

On November 25th, 2018, YouTuber Pookie Senpai^[2] uploaded an animation of the scene, gaining over 2.4 million views in five years (shown below, top). On February 5th, 2023, TikToker mccanimal^[3] posted the relevant clip from the animation to TikTok, gaining over 195,000 likes in one year (shown below).

The upload of the sound to TikTok inspired multiple skits, and as of March 15th, 2024, it has been used in over 24,000 videos. For example, on January 13th, 2024, TikToker lillys.sunshine^[4] used it in a video that gained over 645,000 likes in two months (shown below, left). On November 22nd, 2023, TikToker panicqpoint^[5] posted an animation with the sound, gaining over 1.1 million likes in four months (shown below, right).
