Jamie, a 16 Year Old Streamer Who Is Absolutely Taking Over the Internet refers to a viral tweet shared by Twitter / X user Jake Sucky about 16-year-old Twitch streamer Jamomile that originally went viral in early 2023. After the post, discourse about Jamomile subsided and then resurfaced in March 2024 when many dubbed Jamomile an astroturfed industry plant. Users on X started to parody the tweet via quotes and posts.

On January 15th, 2023, X[1] user @HUN2R tweeted a video from TikTok that showed Twitch streamer Jamomile, captioned, "Swear this kid is the future of streaming," receiving over 21.2 million views and 241,000 likes in a year (shown below).

On January 16th, 2023, X[2] user @JakeSucky tweeted a different video from Jamomile's TikTok, captioned, "This is Jamie, a 16 year old streamer who is absolutely taking over the internet," gaining over 29.9 million views and 37,000 likes in a year (shown below).

Spread
Viral quotes portraying skepticism surfaced in the following days. For instance, on January 18th, 2023, X[3] user @ohfold wrote, "i've literally never heard of this nigga," gaining over 17,000 likes in a year (shown below, left).
Later on January 18th, 2023, X[4] user @tize4PF said, "gotta be an industry plant cause ian ever see him before," receiving over 56,000 likes in a year (shown below, right).
A month later, on February 22nd, 2023, X[5] user @SUPERKAl64 posted a quote that was more expletive, ending with, "Do ur homework and get a real job," receiving over 20,000 likes in a year (shown below, left).
Months later, on December 23rd, 2023, the gimmick account @PoorlyAgedStuff posted a quote on X,[6] writing, "yeah," earning over 35,000 likes in three months (shown below, right).
Viral memes and posts resurfaced in March 2024, following a tweet shared by X[7] user @NintendoGCN on March 10th, 2024, who said, "seriously who the hell was this kid," gaining over 44,000 likes in one day.
Viral replies to the post surfaced, like one shared by X[8] user @Celevie413 on March 10th, 2024, who referenced Engagement Bait posts like the 97-Year-Old NYC Diner and Apple's Best Feature, gaining over 4,700 likes in a day (shown below).
