Josh Wine or Josh Cellars refers to an American brand of wine, originally founded in 2007. Josh became the subject of memes in early 2024 following a post shared by a Twitter / X user named King Pisces 🔱🧸 (@OptimusGrind__) that included a photo of a Josh wine bottle with a caption reading, "I’m not gonna keep telling y’all to grow up and leave that Stella & Barefoot alone." The tweet inspired numerous quotes and replies, leading to further memetic usage of the wine's likeness.
History
Josh Cellars was founded in 2007 by winemaker Joseph Carr.[1] Carr named it Josh after his father.[1] By 2023, Josh had become the No. 1 premium table wine in America.[1]

The tweet gained a large number of views due to various viral quotes, the first of which was posted by X[6] user @Zujabes on January 8th, 2024, who said, "For non wine drinkers, this is like someone driving a Hyundai making fun of a Kia driver," gaining over 120,000 likes in three days (shown below, right).
Going into January 2024, quotes of the tweet continued to go viral, such as one posted by X[7] user @eggeatingunit on January 9th who wrote, "last night we let the josh talk," gaining over 13,000 likes in two days (shown below, left).
Also on January 9th, 2024, X[8] user @dudeimnormal posted a meme reading, "Its been one of those weeks… …Pass the Josh," gaining over 46,000 likes in two days (shown below, right).
On January 10th, X[9] user @midsmoker34 related the Josh memes to the Stanley Cup trend, writing, "Na but imagine pouring up Josh in a stanley cup👀," gaining over 17,000 likes in one day (shown below).
During the same timeframe, memes about Josh started also surfaced on Instagram.[10][11]
