When I post stuff on KYM, I always make sure it hasn't been posted before. I'm not going to scroll through hundreds of images just to find that specific picture, that's the work of the tags. Sometimes, however, it's complicated when some images don't have any. I mean, you can still work it out as a plan B by searching what you want to track down through key words but if nothing comes out, just go ahead with plan A: post the thing anyway and have some hope that it doesn't turn out as a repost.
Through trial and error, I've developed a methodology of finding already existing images before uploading. Like they say, make a mistake, learn from it and try to improve it.
→ Typing in the name of the artist. Sometimes, an artist uses a different name for identification. This is usually presented through the place it came from (Twitter, Tumblr, DeviantArt, etc.), which is something that I specify not just in the tags, but also in the notes.
→ If the search of the artist provides zero results, the next step is performing a new search through the characters or situations that appear in, in other words, scrolling through dozens and/or hundreds of images. This breaks the rule mentioned at the beginning, but its incredibly helpful for avoiding reposts, even if it takes more time.
→ Normally, as soon as one image is about to be uploaded, KYM immediatelly notifies me that it already exists, thus, preventing the appearance of a repost. However, there have been cases where KYM doesn't notify me at all, this can either happen because of a system error or because one or some tags are incorrectly spelled.
→ Double, triple, quadruple and quintuple check when necessary.
→ I always add the source IF there's one.
→ I'm well aware of the NSFW circumstances. I rarely post this kind of material but if I do, my law is to ignore the grotesque stuff and stick with what's within the limits.I discovered the series during the last week of September, 2011.
Forums of Gametrailers (2002-2016). I was reading the comments of a random thread when I took notice of some signatures which had faces with this kind of expression and I was like "this art style is smooth". Back then, there used to be blogs, so I read one related to FiM which had a link for the pilot episode. I was hooked and the rest is history.Sometime during the first half of 2016, I stumbled upon a plethora of fanart almost everywhere, mostly on KYM. Particularly speaking, I kept seeing art and screenshots of Peridot, Lapis & Jasper. I had no idea how they were called back then, or what was their deal even, but I was intrigued and I wanted to learn more … that thought, maybe out of laziness, would not become true until july 2 of that same year. I was like "hey, let's see what's on TV", and then I stumbled upon SU; the title of the episode Giant Woman welcomed me. I was absorbed and shortly after that, I decided to marathon the entire series, beginning from the pilot, through a site called The World of Steven Universe and the rest is history.
